17:43, 9 January 2019

It's official now. All the members of the Ecumenical Patriarchate have signed Tomos, which legalizes the newborn Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Now, the entire legal procedure is complete, the Patriarchate's press office reports. In several days, the document will return to Ukraine - for good.

Patriarch Bartholomew signed Tomos on January 5 and handed it over to Metropolitan Epifaniy, the recently elected head of the newborn church.  On Monday, the believers could see the manuscript, as it was set for public view at St. Sophia's Cathedral in Kyiv.
