Spanish police accuse Ukrainian sailors of illegal trade with terrorists. 11 Ukrainian sailors now stay in detention, reported Spanish Civil Police officer.

These 11 Ukrainian sailors are the members of a cargo boat crew, arrested by the Guardia Civil police force in West Mediterranean on Tuesday for carrying nearly 20 tonnes of Moroccan hashish.

According to the investigators, the sailors were shipping hashish to Libyan jihadists, thought they are not the members of the terrorist groups and might not be aware to be working for the extremists.

Sailors are facing up to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking, however the term may be longer due to the fact of cooperation with terrorists.

The seizure of the ship was a part of a global operation of Spain, France, Italy and Greece targeting to destroy the channels of financing of armed terrorist groups in North Africa and the Middle East.

Seven ships carrying weapons and drugs were seized since the beginning of 2015.
