The team of Volodymyr Zelensky, the new elected President of Ukraine, informed that the current Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has to resign. Zelensky’s Advisor, former Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk said it at New 5 year challenge: Expectations. Hopes. Concerns in Kyiv, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“Separate position concerning Yuriy Lutsenko. I understand that there is a monumental desire of the establishment to preserve the status quo. But during the announcement of the results of the elections Volodymyr made an important statement: he thinks that Lutsenko is a person of the past. And if he wants he can come back in politics, but he has to leave the post of the Prosecutor General. People who will implement a real reform has to come here,” he said.
Someone among the activists who emerged recently has to hold this post, as ZeTeam thinks.
“We have enough people who can prove themselves on this position and have a good reputation and support of the community. We have a lot of anti-corruption activists. I would recommend someone among these activists to hold this post,” Danylyuk said.
After the second round of the presidential elections, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has to be replaced with a “new person”.
Within first 100 days of Zelensky’s presidency, ZeTeam intends to come up with the work of the chairmen of NABU, SAP, State Bureau of Investigation and Prosecutor General Office.
