The team of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky requested that Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs provides the candidate with security. Ivan Varchenko, the advisor of the Minister of Internal Affairs, stated this on the session, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We were guarding nine presidential candidates until the first round of the elections. Zelensky’s team asked to provide Zelensky with such security, who will be in the ballot paper in the second round,” Varchenko said.
According to the advisor of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the National police are working with all presidential candidates, because the task of enforcers is to secure communication with all participants of the electoral process.
Earlier, the National Police withdrew the protection from seven candidates, while Volodymyr Zelensky and Yulia Tymoshenko were still guarded.
Ukraine's Central Election Commission has finished the processing of all electronic protocols. According to them, Volodymyr Zelensky got 30,24%, Petro Poroshenko got 15,95% and Yulia Tymoshenko has 13,40%.
