Zelensky’s statement that Russian and Ukraine have nothing in common is a deep delusion, as the Chairman of the Political Council of “Opposition Platform – For Life” Viktor Medvedchuk believes. The press office of the political party cited the politician.
“The statement of President-elect Zelensky that the only thing Russian and Ukraine have in common is a state border, 2295 kilometers and 400 meters made for the sake of eloquence is a deep delusion, it’s not true. Not a single person with common sense will agree with this statement,” he said.
According to him, Ukrainians and Russians have a lot of things in common.
“I don’t know what did Zelensky think about for so long that he made such conclusions, but I am convinced and I am ready to prove that Ukrainians and Russians are united by a common orthodox faith, common culture and language over a half of Ukrainians speak, millions of relatives who live in our states, the great victory in the most cruel war in humanity’s history,” the oppositionist noted.
He added that he will be sorry if Zelensky follows the path of Poroshenko.
“If Mr. Zelensky does not know this, does not want to listen or decided to refuse from it following Poroshenko’s way, I can only say that I am really sorry. I am sorry for the Ukrainians. Many will be disappointed if they realize that they put nothing over nothing,” Medvedchuk said.
As it was reported, on May 2, Zelensky made a quite loud statement about Russia.
“I was thinking about common things Russia and Ukraine have. The reality is that after Crimea’s annexation and aggression in Donbas, the only common thing which has left is state border. 2295 kilometers and 400 meters of “common”. Russia has to return control over each millimeter to Ukraine. Only then we will continue searching for “the common”, President-elect wrote.
