Zelensky’s Office expects new escalation in Donbas

Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva stated that Ukraine should expect new military escalation as Liviy Bereh reported.

According to Zhovkva, the proper bodies of Ukraine have such information.

“Unfortunately, we should (expect military escalation. This information, so to say, is owned by proper Ukrainian structures,” Zhovkva said.

He also noted that the Ukrainian side also informs its partners.

“Since the escalation of the situation near the borders of Ukraine, President Zelensky has already held phone talks with U.S. President Joe Biden, PM of the UK Boris Johnson, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, PM of Canada Justin Trudeau. Zelensky not only exchanged information with each of the leaders but also received from them clear and timely signals of support,” he specified.

Currently, the escalation is observed in Donbas. During the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces reported 11 attacks in the combat area. In nine cases, the shooting occurred near Ukrainian positions; in the other two, the occupants shelled civilian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Kremlin stated that the intensification of hostilities in the Donbas will be the beginning of the end of Ukraine
