The Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that all sides agreed the date of the Normandy Format summit – December 9, Paris as the office reported on Telegram.
“President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the phone talk with President of France Emmanuel Macron. The French President underlined that Ukraine fulfilled all necessary conditions to hold the Normandy Format summit. As a result, all parties agreed the date of its holding - December 9 in Paris”, the message said.
It is stated that Zelensky reported to the French President about the current situation on the security in Donbas.
The sides also discussed the economic cooperation of both states and agreed to continue the bilateral dialogue during the official visit of Macron to Ukraine.
Earlier Macron stated that the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will meet in Paris on December 9 to intensify the efforts on the search for the peaceful settlement of Donbas Conflict.
On November 12, Darka Olifer, the Spokesperson of Ukraine’s Representative Leonid Kuchma, reported that all obstacles for holding of Normandy Four leaders meeting were lifted at the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.
Earlier Russia considered the possibility of participation in the Normandy Format summit after signing of Steinmeier formula by the Ukrainian side. The disengagement of forces in three areas should precede the implementation of Steinmeier formula.
The disengagement of forces took place in Stanytsia Luhanska and Zolote, Luhansk regions.
On November 9, the disengagement of forces started in Petrovske, Donetsk region.
On November 10, the mass media reported that the Normandy Four meeting at the highest level may take place on November 24 or 26.
