President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky started his working visit to the United States to participate in the UN General Assembly on September 23. President’s spokesperson Yulia Mendel announced this on Twitter page.
“Today, Volodymyr Zelenskyy starts his visit to the USA to participate in the UN General Assembly 2019,” the message reads.
As it was reported earlier, the session of the 74th General Assembly has already begun; it kicked off on September 17. On September 19, the Ukrainian leader shaped the delegation that is to participate in the Assembly's work next week; Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko will be heading it.
The speech of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky at the UN General Assembly session in New York is slated for September 25. It is to start at 4 p.m. Kyiv time.
Zelensky and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump are supposed to meet in New York within the UN General Assembly session. In addition, during the visit, Zelensky will meet with leaders of the Ukrainian community of the United States, leaders of Jewish organizations in the United States, and with representatives of American business circles.
