President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the denial of access to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross mission to Ukrainians in the occupied regions of Donbas is another example of Russia's unwillingness to fulfill its obligations. Zelensky said this in an interview with Dom TV channel, a part of which was published by the press service of the head of state.
"As for the Red Cross, I had an agreement with the President of Russia that the Red Cross would have access to the temporarily occupied territories ... We were all told that there would be such an opportunity. The Red Cross has not had any access since our agreements," Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukraine adhered to all agreements, but constantly faces their non-fulfillment by Russia and pro-Russian militants. Another clear evidence of this is the entry/exit checkpoints closed from the side of occupied territories. Ukraine, for its part, has built new checkpoints and created all the conditions for their opening.
Earlier, on August 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that does everything for de-occupation of Donbas and the establishment of peace in Ukraine, however, 90% of success in this question depends on the president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky also said that by forcibly giving passports to Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas, the Kremlin was violating international law. He also noted that each case of obtaining a Russian passport by Ukrainians in ORDLO should be approached individually, and not from the standpoint of conviction.
