The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should adopt in the second reading and in general the draft law On the framework of the state anti-corruption policy for 2020-2024 adopted as the basis in November 2020. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made such a statement during Zero Corruption Conference 2021.
“In my opinion, the parliament should focus on the fact that during the past four years, in Ukraine, the program document – anti-corruption strategy. I believe, the MPs have to adopt the submitted by the government draft law On the framework of the state anti-corruption policy for 2020-2024 as soon as possible and adopt such strategy,” Zelensky stated.
According to him, the document should contain five main principles: optimization functions of the state bodies and elimination of duplication; the digital transformation of the implementation of the bodies of the state power and local self-governance and full opening of data; convenient and legal services; unavoidability of responsibility for corruption crimes and social intolerance to the corruption; approval of the culture of honesty and respect to the supremacy of law.
As we reported, the ambassadors of the G7 countries welcome the draft reform of the Security Service of Ukraine, which was presented on 3 June. The ambassadors also called on the Verkhovna Rada MPs to support the bill.
