President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump , the U.S. President may meet in New York on September 23-26. The precise day is still discussed as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing U.S. Charge d'Affairs in Ukraine William Taylor.
“I think it will take place in the midst from September 23 up to September 26 in New York,” he said.
According to Taylor, the agreement of the schedules of both leaders takes place.
Concerning the visit of Zelensky to Washington, the Charge d'Affairs noted that the date of the meeting with Trump is not established.
“But on New York, we are very close,” the diplomat explained.
Earlier Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko confirmed that President Zelensky will visit the U.S. on September 23 to participate in the UN General Assembly.
On September 1, Zelensky participated in the bilateral meeting with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence. The meeting took place within the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the WWII in Warsaw.
Pence confirmed once more that America supports the Ukrainians, especially in the issues of the territorial integrity and noted that the relations between the countries are strong as never before.
U.S. President Donald Trump planned to meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw on September 1. However, Trump had to cancel all international visits due to the hurricane.
