Zelensky to agree with Merkel on meeting in Normandy format

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated he wants to agree with Chancellor of Germany on immediate meeting in “Normandy format”, as he said at the briefing broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

Zelensky intends to talk with Angela Merkel on August 7 not to delay the meeting.

“How many more people might die this year. I want it to happen despite all the previous diplomatic agreements, so that we treat each other like humans and understand that this is important,” he said.

President of Ukraine also noted that this meeting would be held soon.

On August 6, the militants attacked the Ukrainian positions near Pavlopil in Donbas combat zone. Four Ukrainian servicemen died as a result. It was reported that during the attack the servicemen were carrying out engineering works.
