Zelensky submits first draft law to parliament as president

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offers to the Verkhovna Rada to amend the law “On public procurements” concerning the purchase during the election process. He submitted the proper draft law to the parliament and marked it as urgent as the Verkhovna Rada reported.

However, the text of the document is absent on the website of the parliament.

It is expected that the draft law will be considered today during the extraordinary session of the parliament. The amendments to the law on the elections of MP can be also considered during this session.

The mentioned draft law is the first one submitted for consideration of the parliament by the sixth president of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky officially dissolved the Verkhovna Rada and appointed the snap elections for July 21. The Cabinet of Ministers should provide the financing of the elections.

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andry Paruby issued the order, according to which the extraordinary session of the parliament is appointed for May 22 at 12:00 p.m.

Head of the Administration of the President Andry Bohdan stated that the decision on the dissolution of the parliament corresponds the Constitution.
