President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the preparation of the Normandy Format meeting. However, in case it does not take place, the leader of the state will find another format of the talks with each side as the president stated at Ukraine 30 forum.
“The Normandy Format meeting is being prepared. It should take place. If there is no meeting in Normandy Format, I would find a format within which I will meet each of them individually. There will be no chance to postpone the decision of this issue,” Zelensky said.
He also reminded that on Wednesday, the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas Conflict will take place.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that a summit of the Normandy Four (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) is needed to achieve progress on resolving the war in Donbas.
On January 12, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak participated in the meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Format countries that took place in Berlin. Besides, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Heidi Grau participated in the meeting.
The sides discussed the wide range of the issues of agenda – from the safety up to humanitarian issues. The parties noted that the importance of the observance of the ceasefire regime in Donbas.
