President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the provision of humanitarian aid to India. The President signed the corresponding decree No. 186/2021 on Friday, May 7.
"In order to help overcome the consequences of the emergency with the spread of acute respiratory disease Covid-19 in the Republic of India ... I decree: to provide humanitarian aid to India," the document says.
As we reported earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmygal stated that the government of Ukraine will provide oxygen to India.
In March, the new Covid-19 strain with the double mutation was observed in India. In April, the catastrophic situation with the spread of coronavirus occurred. During a week, the world records of growths of infected people were registered in the country.
Over 40 countries took commitments to help India in the provision of main medical needs. The Foreign Minister of India held a briefing with the heads of the missions all over the world to inform them about the current crisis. According to him, the import of oxygen for treatment of Covid-19 patients is a priority for India and 40 states declared their readiness to help.
