President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky flew out to the United States on September 20. He will take part in the UN General Assembly. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to its own sources.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky flew out to the United States to participate in the UN General Assembly," the statement said.
It is noted that Zelensky's speech at the General Assembly is scheduled for the second half of September 22.
According to the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov, the head of state will have a number of bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries, representatives of international organizations, the UN Secretary General, business representatives and the Ukrainian community in the United States.
Earlier, Zelensky approved the delegation for participation in the work of the UN General Assembly.
On Wednesday September 22, US President Biden will convene a virtual Covid-19 Summit on the margins of the UN General Assembly. This was announced by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki.
"This meeting is about expanding and enhancing our shared efforts to defeat Covid-19, building out from previous gatherings of world leaders and ministers in fora like the G7, G20, and Act Accelerator to rally civil society, NGOs, philanthropists, and industry along with world leaders and align on a common vision for defeating Covid-19 together," Psaki said.
