In addition, Volodymyr Zelensky and Maia Sandu discussed the issues of cooperation in the field of European integration, emphasizing the necessity to ensure the greatest efficiency of the Eastern Partnership Summit, which will take place in December this year.

On October 22, the Moldovan delegation in Moscow failed to come to terms with the Russian Gazprom, so the gas deal with it was not extended. Soon, the Moldovan government announced an energy crisis due to the gas deficit, which emerged after the negotiations with Moscow failed.

On October 27, Gazprom offered Moldova a new agreement, according to which gas will be at a much lower price. In exchange, Russia wants Moldova to weaken its ties with the European Union.
