President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka, as well as other heads of departments, should not occupy their positions if they do not show the results of work, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“I am sure that I will be told: tut, tut, you cannot touch the prosecutor general. However, you know, we passed a long way together, including the election campaign. The MPs should vote as they want to but my personal opinion is very simple: no result – you should not occupy the position. And it is fair when you talk about it,” Zelensky said.
He added that he considers Ryaboshapka to be a good specialist concerning the work of the Office of the Prosecutor General; however, during the stay in the office, he failed to show the result.
According to Oleksandr Kachura, MP from the ruling Servant of the People faction, in addition to the resignation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, Verkhovna Rada shall decide on the resignation of Prosecutor-General Ruslan Ryaboshapka. The draft resolution on the dismissal of Ryaboshapka from the position of Prosecutor General was registered yesterday by the MPs of the "Servants of the people."
The Parliament Committee on Law Enforcement has decided to recommend the parliamentarians to consider a draft resolution on a vote of no confidence to Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka.
