President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky retired ex-head of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Army’s General Viktor Muzhenko from active duty as the president’s press service reported.
“To release General of Army of Ukraine Muzhenko from the military service to reserve with the right to wear a uniform,” the document said.
On May 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky released Head of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko from the post.
Zelensky appointed Ruslan Khomchak as Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On September 2, newly appointed Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka fired Anatoliy Matios, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine.
One of the recent actions by Matios's office was an investigation into the scandalous article, where the author assumed the occupation of some western and southern regions of Ukraine by Romania in 2022. He referred to the original story at Information Resistance NGO's website; that included references to possible occupation of Chernivtsi region and part of Odesa region. They border Romania. Due to these allegations, Matios claimed he planned to convene a session with the leading officials of Ukraine's Defense Ministry, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the State Security Service and the Foreign Ministry.
