Zelensky puts into effect Defense Council decision on cyber troops in Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Decree #446 / 2021, which put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the establishment of cyber troops in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.

This decree puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of May 14, 2021 On Urgent Measures for Cyber Defense of the State, which provides for the creation of cyber troops in the structure of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet of Ministers must immediately calculate the amount of material, technical and financial resources needed to create and ensure the proper functioning of cyber troops, as well as the staffing of cyber troops, taking into account the optimal ratio reservists and other categories of persons.

"Based on the results of calculations, within two months to develop and submit to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill on the establishment and operation of cyber troops in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," the document reads.

The presidential decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication. According to him, the Secretary of the Council Oleksiy Danilov is responsible for the implementation of this decision of the National Security and Defense Council.
