President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the presentation of the mobile application Diya (“action”), through which state bodies will be able to provide services online.
“The state for a person should be a simple, convenient and understandable service. We present a mobile application Diya. Now it is available on the Apple Store and Google Play,” he said in the speech.
According to the president, from February 6, nine million Ukrainians can have and use the driver's license and vehicle registration certificate in their smartphone.
He also said that by the end of the winter, Ukrainians will be able to access their digital passports and be able to use their smartphone to certify their identity during train trips, receive medical services, make banking operations and more.
Earlier, it was reported that Ministry of Digital Transformation would unveil the Action app in December.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov added that after this, the era of transformation of electronic services into a smartphone will begin: they will start with electronic registration so that you can change the place of registration. Also, through a smartphone you can get a pension. Earlier Fedorov said that among the plans of the Ministry of Digital Information for 2020 is the introduction of passports in electronic format.
