Zelensky predicts time frame of Normandy Format summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky predicted the time frame of the Normandy Format summit, as he reported on Facebook.

According to the president, on July 12, the first meeting of the representatives of Normandy Four took place.

“There is the Normandy Format, which did not work for two years. On July 12, the first meeting of the representatives took place; agreed that one more meeting will take place, more substantial. And after another meeting four leaders will try to agree: President of Ukraine, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Emmanuel Macron. I believe, we will get closer to the diplomatic solution of this issue,” Zelensky stated.

On July 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin to hold talks on Donbas in Minsk with the involvement of the representatives of the U.S., France, Great Britain.

At the same time, the President stressed that Ukraine does not refuse from any diplomatic formats which might settle the situation in Donbas.

On July 11, Putin stated that Moscow will be ready to discuss the extension of Normandy Format after snap parliamentary elections in Ukraine. However, the U.S. stands against the change of the format of the negotiations on Ukraine.
