President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky pardoned Ukrainian political prisoner Serhiy Lytvynov as Deputy Justice Minister Serhiy Petukhov reported on Facebook.

He cited the law of the president #517/2019 dated July 11 “On pardon”. The document is not published on the website of the president.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian political prisoner Serhiy Lytvynov, convicted in Russia on fabricated charges in the commitment of the robbery, serves sentence in Ukraine for four months.

Lytvynov was accused of the murder of a few civilians at the territory of Stanytsia-Luhanska and use of the banned warfare methods. However, this information was not confirmed. So, convicted in Russia Ukrainian Lytvynov demanded an apology. He stated that he was illegally detained in a Russian prison and tortured.

Earlier a march in support of Ukrainian political prisoners who are illegally detained in the Russian Federation was held in Kyiv.
