Zelensky on early local elections: "Don’t get too comfortable"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky hinted that early local elections in Ukraine are possible, as he said at the briefing broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

“Today, our party can relax a little bit. But not for long. Tomorrow we have a lot of work… Many people ask about early local elections. Are you interested? I would like to say: “Don’t get too comfortable”,” Zelensky said.

It should be noted that rumors about early local elections circulate long ago. Regarding the success of Servant of the People party, the President’s Office might conduct a local campaign.

Servant of the People party got 43% on party lists. Besides, the resources in the headquarters predicted that the party will have at least 80 mandates under the constituencies. According to the preliminary information, the party’s candidates won in Kyiv all constituencies.

As it was reported, local elections in Ukraine are scheduled for autumn 2020.
