President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs will not be liquidated as 112 Ukraine reported.

The Ukrainian leader asked the volunteers and veterans to offer the candidate for the position of the minister.

“The first and the most important, the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs will not be liquidated. It is embarrassing information, embarrassing gossips. You know better than others that there are really some problems there; what things do not work and what things should be changed. We will implement it. Besides, we are waiting for a candidature from you; I do not want to choose this candidature I want you to provide a candidature, which is an authority and which really may head the ministry,” Zelensky stated.

Moreover, the Council of Volunteers will be created at the Office of the President and the Commissioner for Volunteers’ Affairs will be appointed.

“I assure you that the new Verkhovna Rada will do everything necessary to protect your rights; all necessary laws will be adopted for sure. The Council of Volunteers will be created at the Office of the President and the Commissioner for Volunteers’ Affairs will be appointed. Ukraine will always owe you a debt and will always remember about it, always remember each of you, alive and deceased for the sake of Ukraine. And the last, all of you are People with a capital p and you will be equal for us. The authority will not have right and wrong veterans anymore, pleasant and undesirable volunteers. I can guarantee you for 100% that our attitude to you will be based on three things – respect, respect and one more time respect,” the head of the state said.
