President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed all chairmen of regional state administrations to fully pay off wage arrears to doctors in the coming days. He stated this in his video message.

"Next week we will receive information on each hospital and each medical worker on their salary and allowances," he said.

The President also noted that in those regions where doctors are not paid, the local governors may be deprived of a salary, and a maximum punishment is dismissing from his office.

Volodymyr Zelensky recalled that back in mid-April, the government transferred funds to pay premiums to doctors who counteract the coronavirus. However, in some regions there are cases when these funds were not paid.

As we reported earlier, those involved in delaying payments to doctors should be held accountable.

All the money that was allocated to the doctors from the state budget, taking into account surcharges of 300%, was transferred to the regions. However, local authorities did not consider surcharges from salaries, but from hours worked, referring to a decision of the Ministry of Social Policy dating back to 2003. Thus, doctors who work with coronavirus-infected patients have not received the full supplement.
