Zelensky hopes to simplify visa regime with Canada

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes Canada will gradually liberalize the visa regime for Ukrainians. He stated this during a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that Canada will gradually liberalize the visa regime for citizens of Ukraine, which will further strengthen relations between the peoples of the two countries," - President’s office said in a statement.

 Zelensky called Trudeau to congratulate his Liberal Party on his election victory. The President of Ukraine thanked the Prime Minister of Canada for his country's consistent position regarding sanctions against Russia, and also invited Trudeau to Ukraine.

In turn, the Canadian Prime Minister welcomed the release of captured Ukrainian sailors and the return of ships captured by Russia. He also praised the agreement on holding the summit in the "Normandy format" on December 9.
