Zelensky honors deceased Ukrainian servicemen

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the deceased Ukrainian soldiers, as the Presidential press office informs. 

Zelensky laid flowers to the Memorial Wall of the militaries died for Ukraine, which is located near St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv. 

"The Head of State together with his wife laid flowers and put icon lamps near the Memorial Wall with the names of servicemen and law enforcement officials perished in the struggle for the unity of Ukraine and honored their memory with a moment of silence," reads the message.

It is known that the President of Ukraine is going to have a working visit in the Donetsk region where he intends to visit the Headquarters of the Joint Forces and met with the militaries. 

Today, on October 14, Ukraine marks the Defender of Ukraine Day. This is a day of honoring the courage and heroism of defenders of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Since 2015, this day is a day off. In addition, the holiday coincides with the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Protection of the Holy Virgin.
