President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he cannot publish all information that he knows about the disengagement of forces and means in Donbas because this data will be revealed to the Russian Federation as 112 Ukraine reported.
“Yesterday I met the veterans and the will tell you, everyone was here, the National Corps, Azov and others. I explained them, 90-99% of people with whom I met yesterday, they say: “Why don’t you communicate, why don’t you explain us everything?”. I told them: “Guys, we are sitting together now, imagine what you offer me. I should come and how should I communicate with Russia? And so on. You want it to be a poker when they know my playing cards? When we sit at the same table. For what should I prepare? Do I have to need some strategy? Or you want everyone to know where our troops are located, when we go, where we disengage, when we attack? How can I reveal this information?,” Zelensky said.
The president expressed the conviction that “it is not the advantage to reveal all our plans but loss. It is the immediate loss”.
“I agree that the communication is weak; I know that a lot of people are heated up as they did not understand fairly, including Steinmeier issue and other things; did not understand, did not know but were heated up and we know who do it. But we should help each other to stop the war. It will not work in other way. That is why it is necessary to talk with the veterans who stay in Zolote,” the president added.
He noted that he will not solve the issue of blocking of the disengagement of the forces in Zolote, Luhansk region by force.
At the same time, Zelensky criticized the military men who carry weapon when they are not in service.
“If there are the veterans, I respect them but if they came there and they are armed it is not right. What do you think, it is not right that they are not military now but armed,” the president said.
Earlier Andriy Biletsky, the leader of National Corps party and the first commander of Azov volunteer regiment said that veterans of Donbas conflict will remain on the division line in Zolote settlement in Luhansk region, demanding that the Ukrainian government officially refuses to implement the Steinmeier formula and drops the idea to disengage troops along the said line.
On October 9, the clash took place between the police officers, volunteers and veterans who want to enter Zolote to prevent the disengagement of forces at the checkpoint in Kreminna, Luhansk region.
On October 1, the sides agreed on the beginning of the disengagement of the forces in Zolote (Luhansk region) and Petrovske (Donetsk region) during the Trilateral Contact Group session.
