President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expects that after yesterday's meeting of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States, the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas will be able to resolve three important issues, including the exchange of prisoners as the president stated.

Thus, according to Zelensky, he expects that during today's meeting the parties will find a way out of a difficult situation and resolve three issues important for Ukraine, namely: the return of the ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners and the opening of the checkpoint.

“I know that these issues were also discussed with the support of the United States at the meeting of the presidents of the United States and Russia. We find any paths and believe that this path, long or short, will lead to real results,” Zelensky said.

As is known, the negotiations between the Russian and American leaders took place on December 7. The talks took two hours, with the agenda including bilateral relations, strategic stability as well as the situation in Ukraine and the NATO expansion.
