President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during a conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, expressed hope that a meeting in the Normandy format will take place in the near future as he stated at Dim TV channel.
"I would like to say that I fully support this format. I believe that apart from the Normandy format, we no longer have any other platform today to get out of this situation in order to really end the war in eastern Ukraine," Zelensky said.
He hopes that the meeting will be substantive.
As we reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky negotiated with French leader Emmanual Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The sides focused on preparations for the summit of the Normandy Four member countries.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel noted the stagnation in the Normandy format and called for the resumption of meetings within its framework.
