President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that they plan to hold elections in the Donbas in the autumn of 2020, together with the all-Ukrainian local elections. The president announced this on the talk show Savik Schuster "Freedom of Speech".

According to Zelensky, the elections to the Occupied territories of Donetsk / Luhansk regions will be held simultaneously with the all-Ukrainian local elections, because "we are one country."

"Local elections will be held simultaneously, according to the laws of Ukraine, throughout Ukraine. Yes, this is our idea," the president said.

To the question of the journalist how Volodymyr Zelensky is going to solve the "dilemma" regarding the Minsk agreements, which prescribe the initial elections, and only then the definition of Ukrainian territories in the Donbas, the president answered the following:

"I will definitely talk about borders. I will speak frankly, we have a different plan about the border, how it is transmitted and how and when Ukraine controls the Ukrainian border with Russia."

It should be noted that the president did not answer the question of the journalist about whether Zelensky wants to change the Minsk agreements.
