Zelensky does not support initiative to cancel petition on his resignation

The Head of the State stressed that the "law does not provide cancellation of the petition"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky considered the petition on cancellation of another petition – on his resignation. The Head of the State stated that he did not support the initiative; besides, the law does not provide for cancelation of the petition.

The respective data was published on the official website of the President.

“I am sincerely grateful to all who have signed this petition, for the civic position and support, on this occasion I promise to justify your high trust… I inform the authors, the signatories and all concerned people that I do not support the e-petition No. 22/053988 “For resignation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky”,” the answer reads.

He stressed that the law does not provide such procedure as cancelation of the petition.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky said he regarded the petition on his resignation as a joke.

“Today, everybody has a right to initiate e-petitions to the authority even trolling ones at some level, as the mentioned petition on my resignation, as this is one of the democracy’s mechanisms,” President of Ukraine said.

As it was reported, petition No. 22/053988 had 25,000 votes. The petition offers to cancel the petition on Zelensky’s resignation.
