President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. During the conversation, the parties discussed the aggravation of the situation in Eastern Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.

"In recent weeks, we have seen a very dangerous trend towards an increase in the number of ceasefire violations by the Russian occupation forces and the number of killed Ukrainian defenders," Zelensky said.

Also, the head of state informed Stoltenberg about the transfer of Russian troops to the Ukrainian border.

In addition, Zelenskiy urged NATO member states to pay more attention to security issues in the Black Sea and to strengthen their military presence in the Black Sea region.

"Such a permanent presence should become a powerful factor in deterring Russia, which continues to massively militarize the region and interfere with commercial shipping," the president added.

Earlier, NATO ambassadors expressed concern about the buildup of Russian military power near Ukraine's borders and acknowledged that Moscow was undermining peace efforts in the Donbas.

On April 5, during a telephone conversation, Zelensky told British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the aggravation of the situation in Donbas, the build-up of the Russian military contingent near the Ukrainian-Russian border, and Russia's attempts to disrupt the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
