President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has met with the USA Special Representative on Ukraine's affairs Kurt Volker and the United States Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland. The meeting took place July 26, the press office of the state leader reports.
Zelensky thanked the American side for the consistent support and efforts aimed at achieving peace in Donbas. Besides, the President discussed with the representatives of the USA Administration the current situation in the JFO area, particularly separation of forces and means around Stanytsia Luhanska.
“The need for performance of the previous reciprocal steps, agreed upon with the occupying authorities was noted during the meeting, and these steps will allow to finish the process of forces and means separation and improve the humanitarian situation on the demarcation line successfully,” the message reads.
The sides hope that the ceasefire, introduced in July 21 will be comprehensive and sustainable and any armed provocations from the forces of the occupied territories would be finished completely.
As it was reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the U.S. Special Representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker in Canada, as the President’s Office reported.
"The President stressed that Ukraine fully supported the political-diplomatic way of resolving the conflict in Donbas. This is evidenced by the "re-launch" of the work of Ukrainian representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group, steps towards the intensification of the Normandy format and separation of forces and means in Stanytsia Luhanska," the message said.
