President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the phone talk with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as the President’s Office reported.

The sides continued the discussion of the actual issues of Ukraine-EU agenda.

Zelensky informed the head of the European Commission on the results of the Normandy Format Summit, which took place on December 9 in Paris and noted the importance of the fulfillment of the reached agreements by the Russian Federation.

“Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the efforts of Ukrainian side for the restoration of the negotiations in the Normandy Format and achievement of tangible results of the meetings,” the office noted.

It is noted that the sides also discussed the issues of the provision of the uninterrupted gas transit on the gas pipelines of Ukraine and prospects of the conclusion of the new agreement with Russia. It is agreed to continue the proper work, particularly, on the support of the new composition of the European Commission in the trilateral format.

The leaders agreed the necessary steps necessary for the allocation of the second tranche of the macro-financial aid in the sum of 500 million of euro soon.

Zelensky also offered to find the ways of the early signing of the agreement between Ukraine and EU on the common aviation space.

As we reported NATO Military Committee will hold a field meeting at the National Ground Forces Academy of Ukraine.
