President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has not fulfilled the promises declared last year during his speech on Independence Day as the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) reported on Facebook.

The statements of the president concerned the observation of the ceasefire in Donbas, fight against coronavirus, return of occupied territories, punishment of people suspected in the state treason.

“Particularly, during the year, the authorities did not succeed to provide comprehensive ceasefire on which the president put emphasis during his speech, as well as the start of the vaccination campaign against coronavirus of the population was almost failed, despite the statements of the president about full readiness to such actions. Besides, V. Zelensky changed his attitude to holding of military parade called last year “the amusement for Kyiv citizens,” CVU Chairman Oleksiy Koshel said.

On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of the declaration of independence.

Many festive events are expected today, including the military parade at Khreshchatyk, the solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a large-scale gala concert at Olympiysky, different exhibitions, and local events all over the country.
