President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree on changes in the composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Zelensky entered a new Minister of Economy, Oleksiy Lyubchenko to the National Security and Defense Council. The corresponding decree was published by the press service of the President's Office.
"To introduce Oleksiy Mykolayovych Lyubchenko, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, to the personnel of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the document reads.
The decree has already entered into force.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Lyubchenko as the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine. 293 Ukrainian MPs supported his candidacy.
“I submit proposal on appointment of Lyubchenko Oleksiy as the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine," Ukraine’s PM Denys Shmygal told.
Prior to his appointment as the minister, Lyubchenko headed the State Tax Service (since April 29, 2020). Prior to that, Lyubchenko was the First Vice President of Ukragrohimholding, Adviser to the Head of the State Fiscal Service, Director of the Department in the State Tax Service, Deputy Head of the Tax Service, and held various management positions in Cherkasy region.
