During the conversation, the two sides also touched upon the issue of gas negotiations in the trilateral format Ukraine-Russia-EU.

"Taking into account the Normandy Format summit, scheduled for 9 December 2019 in Paris, the Ukrainian side initiated a telephone conversation between Volodymyr Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The parties touched upon the situation with the transfer of three warships that were engaged by Kyiv during the provocation near the Kerch Strait in November 2018," the Kremlin website said.

As we reported, Russia stated some personal belongings of Ukrainian sailors on the ships captured in the Kerch Strait "rotted due to dampness." As the investigators explained, the ships were unattended due to humidity and conditions of detention.
