President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on appointment of Oleksiy Solovyov as the Deputy Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. The decree from February 25 published on the website of the President’s Office.
“To appoint Oleksiy Solovyov as Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the message reads.
It is noteworthy that Solovyov earlier was head of State Service for Medications and Drugs Control. In May 2014 he was fired from this position. The Health Minister of that time Oleh Musiy accused him of corruption over increased prices for medicine. There was no information on public trial over these allegations.
Before his appointment to Defense Council he worked in Interregional Academy of Personnel Management and in 2018 he got a salary of around 1,800 dollars. Solovyov is a holder of Habilitation degree in Medicine, he is a Doctor of Pharmacy and heads professorate of general and clinical pharmacy.
Oleksiy Solovyov worked part-time in Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, was a chairman of board of directors of the Ukrainian Medical and Pharmaceutical Association. He was engaged in private business in 2018 and received an income of 196,000 dollars.
Solovyov is an expert of the World Health Organization (WHO).
