President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that there is not enough gas in Ukrainian storage facilities, and it is unknown what the situation will be in the energy sector in the future, he stated in an interview with ICTV, on the air of the Freedom of speech program.
"It is not easy to react to what we have in storage there, whether we have enough gas for society for the winter. It is not enough, because we do not know what will happen next. Next winter will also definitely come to Ukraine and the world. And the same will happen when our contract on the transit of Russian gas to Ukraine in 2024 expires. What will happen on January 1, 2025? This is also a very serious challenge," the head of state said.
According to him, in such conditions, Ukraine will definitely begin preparations for the transformation of energy security, and in the near future it will be presented to the public.
As it was reported earlier, on October 17 President Volodymyr Zelensky assures that Ukraine has enough gas reserves for consumers.
The CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine previously assured that the company will be able to provide a sufficient gas resource for such categories of consumers as the population.
