The video with the lawmakers of Syurtivska village united territorial community singing the Hungarian anthem is prepared speculation as Chairman of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Oleksiy Petrov stated.
“The out-of-context video that is spread on the internet does not show that before the end of the meeting the lawmakers of Syurtivska village united territorial community sang the Ukrainian anthem. In other words, we clearly see the individual elements of prepared systematical speculation,” Petrov said.
Besides, the politician believes that a person who recorded the video with threats to Syurtivska village united territorial community lawmakers is not the representative of the Right Sector and according to the expert study he has nothing to do with Zakarpattia and Western Ukraine. A similar statement was made by the Right Sector.
Moreover, Petrov reported that the Hungarian side is concerned about the information spread by the mass media that supposedly Ukraine would like to cancel the Hungarian Party in Ukraine.
“The issue tied with the Hungarian national minority is used today by particular political functionaries who are not of the Hungarian origin. They intentionally and persistently hold speculative policy for dissociation of the Hungarian political party with the pro-government political party to keep Zakarpattia in the suspense the relations with the national minorities,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Petrov reminded that earlier, similar situations took place tied with the Hungarian representatives in Zakarpattia.
“The story repeats: in 2018 we saw the same story. Then we discussed the issue of the possibility of the association of the Hungarian political party and the pro-governmental one at the regional council. On the eve of the adoption of the proper political decision on the consolidation, the unknown put billboards with accusations of the main functionaries of pro-Hungarian party of fascism and separatism,” he underlined.
On December 1, it became known that the SBU operatives checked information about possible signs of illegal activity among the MPs of local rural council. Some of these people performed the Hungarian national anthem while making their oath.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry summoned Isztvan Igyarto, the Hungarian ambassador to discuss the situation with the SBU's (Security Service of Ukraine, - 112 International) investigation actions in Zakarpattya, westernmost Ukraine.
