Traffic in Zakarpattia region at Nyzhni Vorota checkpoint on Kyiv-Chop highway is restricted due to the protests of the local residents, as the worker of NPC Ukrenergo (power company responsible for operational and technological control of the Integrated Power System (IPS) of Ukraine and electricity transmission via trunk power grids from generating plants to the distribution networks of the regional electricity suppliers) told 112.ua.
“I am in a traffic jam on the international route Kyiv-Chop in Nyzhni Vorota. They want to lower gas tariffs this way. They are waiting for Hennadiy Moskal, Chairman of Zakarpattia Region Administration,” the interlocutor said.
Besides, the worker of NPC Ukrenergo stated that the protesters did not even let the special car of the electricians.
“We have an emergency power cut, one-third of Zakarpattia region might suffer from outage,” the worker said.
The official website of Dosta-Zakarpattia has published a statement about the protest, which was made on November 15.
Earlier, today, on November 19, Kyiv resident blocked Zoolohichna street because of lack of heating.
