Ex-head of the parliamentary faction Party of Regions Oleksandr Yefremov was escorted from detention facility in Kyiv to Luhansk region. This was reported to "Interfax-Ukraine" by his lawyer Oleksandr Melnikov.
It was reported that Starobelsk district court in Luhansk region was to hold a preparatory meeting regarding Yefremov case on January 13, but postponed ше until the beginning of next week.
According to the lawyer, the defense was not officially notified of the hearing.
In turn, another Yefremov’s lawyer - Andrey Smirnov said that the preparatory meeting of Starobelsk district court may now be held on 16 or 17 January.
As it was reported earlier, Prosecutor General’s Office sent indictment against Yefremov to the court on January 4. Yefremov is in custody, his arrest was extended until January 22. Appeal hearing regarding Yefremov's arrest is scheduled for January 17.
Yefremov was detained on suspicion accused of violation of foreign territorial supremacy and infringement of inviolability of Ukraine on July 30 at Kyiv airport. Apart from that Yefremov is charged with direct support of a Luhansk region militants and misappropriation of Luganskugol property.
