Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk didn’t have an official or business meeting in Switzerland, his press secretary wrote on Facebook.

"There’s no reason to search for conspiracy… It was a private family trip," she wrote.

She also confirmed that the incident at the airport happened due to Russia’s appeal  concerning Yatsenyuk's alleged fighting in Chechnya.

At the same time, she refuted the information that was spread by certain media that Yatsenuyk’s passport wasn’t valid or that he had 50.000 in cash with him.

As we reported earlier, Arseniy Yatsenyuk was detained at Geneva Airport. The detention happened upon Russia’s request. Previously Russia claimed that Yatsenyuk took part in the Chechen war on the side of the militants.
