The defense of Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine demands from the prosecutor's office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) to bring the particular workers of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to the justice due to their support of the opposition in February 2014. Vitaly Serdyuk, the advocate of Yanukovych claimed this as the press service of the law union Ave Lex reported.
The advocates already filed the proper request to the mentioned bodies.
'We determined the facts during the investigation in the case of the loss of Crimea that testify that Yury Serheev, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Andry Tsymbalyuk, Yuty Vitrenko, his deputies, Serhy Kyslytsia, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kushneruk, the affiliate of the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Andry Olefirov, the Head of Foreign Ministry Machinery, Andry Plakhotnyuk, the Head of Political Analysis Office of the Political Department of the Foreign Ministry actively participated in the commitment of the forcible deposing the government in Ukraine in February 2014. Particularly, they occupied high official positions and possessed the information that Viktor Yanukovych, the legitimate president of Ukraine paid the working visits to Kharkiv and Donetsk regions on 22-23 February 2014 and did not plan to leave the territory of Ukraine; they provided intentionally untruthful information to the UN representatives, guarantor-countries of the Agreement on the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine that he withdrew himself and they claimed despite Constitution that the actions of people who deposed the government are legitimate', Serdyuk said.
According to him, the UN Secretary General and other international officials were deceived by the fact that Oleksandr Turchynov was the only legitimate person to represent the interests of Ukraine as the acting president and head of the Ukrainian parliament and by the fact that the regulation on the self-withdrawn of the president is legitimate.
'Also, I draw the attention to the loud facts of the secret theft of the confidential information of the UN, the records of the closed session of the UN Security Council by the request of the Prosecutor General's Office to include it in the case against Yanukovych', the message said.
According to Serdyuk, the mentioned actions lead to the active protests at south and east of Ukraine.
'It is interesting that the persons who used their job position, intentionally and actively supported the takeover, neglecting the legislation and interests of Ukraine became the witnesses of the prosecution against Yanukovych and accused him in the state treason that they executed themselves. The representatives of the Foreign Ministry should be brought to justice due to the committed crimes. The proper requests were filed to the prosecutor's office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau', Serdyuk emphasized.
