Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said he had been in "refugee camps" and met "volunteers" there, who went fighting in Donbas. He stated this during a press conference, which was broadcast by "112 Ukraine" TV Channel.

"I used to visit the refugee camps, especially at first. And I met these people in the camps, how can they be called mercenaries? Volunteers, who voluntarily went to fight in Donbas, came, asked, took a weapon, were enrolled in these units, and so on. As for the Russian military, a lot is written about this, that Russia is taking part in this armed conflict, I would say that the interest to blame Russia in all this is very big, huge,” he said.
