Former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych claimed about the readiness to participate in the court hearing of the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine on the special pretrial investigation of the excesses of the Euromaidan partakers. Advocate of Yanukovych Vitaly Sedyuk reported this at Facebook and the proper documentation is already filed to the court.

‘With no intentions to avoid the open trial, I express the readiness and will to directly participate in the considering of the Prosecutor General’s Office’s request to submit the explanations to the court and express my point of view towards the mentioned events’, the document stated.

Yanukovych added that he did not receive the information from the Prosecutor General’s Office and Russian Prosecutor’s Office towards the accusations and crimes that he is suspected in. he also urged the court to not yield to the political pressure and provide the publicity and transparency of the trial. The former president insists on the provision of his participation during the consideration that is provided by the Ukrainian and international legislation through the provision of the international legal support.

Pechersk district court of Kyiv will continue today the consideration of the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine on the special pretrial investigation of the excesses of the Euromaidan partakers in February 2014.
