The defense of fugitive Ukrainian ex-President Victor Yanukovych will begin to review the files of the state treason case tomorrow. This was reported during the briefing, which was broadcast by “112 Ukraine” TV channel, by prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko.
“We have informed the defense and the process of reviewing the materials of the case has started. The content was gathered during the pre-trial investigation. Today, the defense refused to review the files,” Kravchenko said.
The prosecutor noted that the lawyers refused to review the materials today, explaining this decision with the end of the working day.
“They said they will begin familiarization with materials on January 31, but refused to do it today. The defense referred to the end of the working day,” Kravchenko says.
According to the prosecutor, the lawyers were given subpoenas for presentation of the pre-investigation materials on January 31, February 1, February 2, February 3 and February 6, 7, 8.
