Former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych gives a press conference in Moscow. Answering the reporters' questions, he, in particular, mentioned the sentence in his case in Ukraine.
'The verdict was, of course, written the way the government said. The pressure upon the court was unprecedented. The sentence has nothing to do with the law... A complete violation of the Criminal Procedure Code, all founded on lies and hatred', the ousted ex-leader said.
As is known, Obolon district court sentenced the ousted ex-president to 13 years behind the bars for state treason and assisting in waging the aggressive war against Ukraine. However, the judges found he was not guilty of the attempt upon Ukraine's territorial integrity.
